My Current Work:
General matters of concern to local parishioners and the local environment.  I am keenly interested in how the growth of ABP and Southampton's commercial use of Southampton Water may affect the New Forest side of the waterway.

About Me:

Before retirement I lived in Kingswood, Surrey, representing that area for 20 years as a District Councillor and then a County Councillor, serving firstly as Vice Chairman of Fire and Rescue, then Chairman of the Gypsy sub-committee and the last 3 years as Chairman of the County Planning Committee.  For some 9 years I sat on the Policy Committee of the former Standing Conference of the South East which balanced the areas of  development, airports, highways, green belt, etc.  I was a School Governor and served on local charities.

I am married to Norman who served in the war, firstly on the Belfast and later in M.L's as a navigator.  We have 3 sons. On retirement we sailed off to explore East Mediterranean waters, keeping our boat in Turkey for 10 years, then Dubrovnik for 2 before returning home to quieter waters of the Solent area.

Hobbies include: gardening and early morning swimming at Applemore Leisure Centre.
