Dibden Purlieu, Hythe & District Horticulture Show
Published: 31 March 2022
The Dibden Purlieu, Hythe & District Horticulture Show has been in existence since 1904 and is the oldest annual event in Hythe. It has taken place every year apart from during WWI, WWII and the pandemic. Just before the pandemic the Committee were looking to stand down after many years organising the show, the pandemic and changes in circumstance looked as if there may not have been a committee to take over. Hythe and Dibden Parish offered to step in and support the show while a new committee was found to ensure we didn't lose this historic show.
There will be a few changes, the number of classes has temporarily been reduced, but the core of the show remains the same. We have a new committee learning the ropes and the Show looks set for the future.
During the pandemic lots of people took to their gardens and start growing flowers and vegetables so this year why not enter some of your prize produce in the show? It doesn't matter if you don't grow anything, there are classes for cookery, photography and crafts too.
You can download and print your copy of the schedule/application here and return it completed, with the entry fee to The Grove, 25 St John's St, Hythe. SO45 6BZ PDF of horticulture show schedule
