Healthy Walks

Hampshire Paths Partnership has been involved in a new Healthy Walking initiative through partnership with the New Forest District Council and the NHS Primary Care Trust. The purpose of this initiative is to encourage people to take regular exercise by identifying short circular walks close to residential areas which are easy to walk and follow.

This Project is totally supported by Hythe and Dibden Parish Council and provides an excellent opportunity for people to get out and about and explore the local community while the leaflets offer walkers the chance to learn more about local wildlife, buildings and other places of interest.

So far three routes have been set up in the Hythe & Dibden area, there is a leaflet  for each route. All of the routes are waymarked with a white arrow and red heart. The leaflets are available free of charge at  local newsagents, doctors surgeries, community and recreation centres, Local Information Points and libraries. They are also available below presented in the form of PDF files, these can be viewed through a free download from the link below.

In addition one of the local doctors surgeries have recently started running a healthy walks group from the surgery on Sunday mornings at 10am. The walks are open to everyone, whether they are registered as one of their patients or not.

Information is available on their website  http://www.greenpractice.co.uk/walkinggroup.html .
