Information and How to Nominate persons for
Community Spirit Awards
Environmental Champion Award
Since February 2020 the pandemic has brought many changes to the Parish and one of the most amazing is the many ways in which the community stepped up to help each other. The Parish Council wishes to continue a tradition that is a memorable and distinctive way for the community to thank and pay special tribute to the people of Hythe and Dibden whose work and efforts have shown kindness and support in this extraordinary year. These people have been key in getting the community through this difficult time and what they do and what they have achieved is an example for us all.
This year rather than have just one overall winner we want to recognise everyone equally, this means that every person nominated will be recognised with the 2020-2021 Community Spirit Award Pin• Community Spirit
– this can be volunteers/neighbours/friends/family who did shopping when you couldn’t get out; delivery drivers; just a neighbour who stopped by to say hello or a friend who rang to check you were OK; businesses that went out of their way to deliver goods to you, etc.; people who sewed PPE; collected care packages for frontline workers; people who collected food and essentials; the list is endless and it does not matter how big or small the activity. Essentially anyone who showed kindness and support and made the last year more bearable for you.• Environmental Champion
– to particularly recognise someone who voluntarily keeps our Parish clean and tidy and/or undertake environmental improvement work.2.0 WHO CAN BE NOMINATED?
