ACCREDITED COMMUNITY SAFETY OFFICERS

 

Hythe and Dibden Parish Council is looking to recruit two Accredited Community Safety Officers working 37 hours a week on a shift rota. One of the positions will be supervisory level and will report to the Clerk of the Council.
This is a post to provide a patrolling presence in areas of need to improve the wellbeing of local residents by helping to make people feel safer.

 

Salary 

Supervisor ACSO – LC2 £24,799 - £25,295 plus late night working allowance
                   ACSO    LC1 £23,836 - £24,313 plus late night working allowance

 

Main responsibilities:

 

To patrol areas of the Hythe and Dibden parish by foot, bicycle or vehicle for the purpose of deterring crime and anti-social behaviour.
To establish trusted relationships with individuals who might have the potential for unsocial behaviour, and with individuals who might feel vulnerable in their homes.
To gather and record evidence of suspicious behaviour, anti-social behaviour and environmental problems.
To contribute to community safety issues as part of wider Community Services activity and on environmental and crime reduction initiatives.
To undertake traffic control measures including management and education in certain areas.
The Council is seeking an individual who has the ability to prioritise and organise a busy workload and can communicate effectively with a variety of people.
The ability to work alone and on own initiative and a positive enthusiastic approach are essential.
You will need to be physically fit and have excellent communication skills. Educated to level 3 in English with good numeracy and literacy skills.
