Hythe and Dibden Parish Council enjoys good relations with the planning departments at the New Forest District Council and the New Forest National Park Authority who are the planning authorities for this parish. The Parish Council is a consultee and therefore receives notification of all planning applications for development within the parish.
All received planning applications are considered by the Planning Committee at their regular Planning meetings which are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 6.45pm in the Council Chamber at The Grove 25 St John’s Street, Hythe SO45 6BZ. Agendas, which include the planning lists are usually published on this website one week prior to the date of the meeting. Following the meeting, the comments of the planning committee are forwarded to the relevant planning authority.
The public is not permitted to speak at a meeting about an application that appears on the current agenda, however, interested parties are invited to send relevant information about an application to the Deputy Clerk to the Council prior to the meeting. The information will be forwarded where possible to Members of the planning committee for their information. The Parish Council also comments on Tree Preservation Order applications, currently, the New Forest National Park administers tree applications across the whole district however New Forest District Council will assume responsibility for trees within the New Forest District Council area in 2019. The Parish Council is awaiting further details on the changes and will publish a link to NFDC’s tree application pages when it is available.
